The present project focuses on the design of an industrial building – engineering plant in Northern Greece, on behalf of a high-tech company. The facility is positioned in the center of the industrial campus, as part of the public path, as an open tour area for both the public and employees. The concept of openness is further supported by the use of transparent surfaces: the metal structure of the roof not only integrates the air ducts and lighting, but also contributes to the creation of large voids, which are in organic contradiction with the wooden beams of the building. In structural terms, the composition emerges as a sculpture, with the lower level housing and exhibiting the infrastructure necessary for the factory and the upper level being a conference room for customers – the only thing that is kept enclosed is the vertical circulation system. At the same time, the roof is inspired by classic industrial sheds, but completely reverses this condition, creating a green recess that encourages visual escapes to the two adjacent mountains. The shell, therefore, embodies both the industrial profile of the company on the ground floor and the relationship with nature on the first floor.
