M House is located in the area of Monastiraki in the municipality of Fokis, a seaside village in Dorida, at an altitude of 15 meters. The design of the building considers the elongated shape of the land, its orientation and access to it, the traditional way of construction of the area, the significant slope and morphology of the ground, in order to propose a composition integrated both in the natural and the built environment.
The main building is destined for a summer residence, and is structured in three levels, communicating with an access staircase. The classification of basement, first and second levels is in accordance with a corresponding classification of private and public spaces: from the internal areas at the lower levels to the external areas at the upper ones.
At the same time, the design of the structure aims to reactivate the morphological characteristics and proportions of the typical residence of the settlement. For the cladding of the building volume, stone is used, as was done in the traditional way of construction.
