FIX
FIX
The regeneration of the Fix Brewery in Thessaloniki represents a remarkable fusion of historical reverence and contemporary innovation. Through a synthesis of architectural theory, philosophical inquiry, and urban design principles, the project breathes new life into a valuable industrial landmark while honoring its rich heritage.
Central to this approach is the concept of entropy, where materials and volumes find new life in their contemporary form, paying homage to the past, while infusing the site with renewed vitality. The brewery emerges as a complex web of connections, where layers of historical significance intersect and intertwine, perpetually undergoing transformation and renewal.
Within the masterplan, various elements inspired by Thessaloniki’s urban planning history and contemporary urban theory are intricately woven together, creating a vibrant, cohesive, and dynamic urban ecosystem. Streets reminiscent of Thessaloniki’s commercial past, galleries encouraging exploration and discovery, green atriums providing refuge and relaxation, plazas serving as focal points of activity, and urban anchors disrupting monotony and fostering community engagement—all contribute to a rich mosaic of urban life.
